Isothane products get cert approval for hard to treat homes (August 2009)

The recent CERT approval of Isothane’s in-situ applied PUR/PIR Insulation products Duratherm and Technitherm now offers Energy Suppliers, Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Social Landlords even more cost effective insulation options for Hard to Treat Homes.

In CERT (The Government’s Carbon Emissions Reduction Target) and previous schemes, the priority has been to get as many houses insulated as possible and inevitably the focus has been to insulate the easier, standard constructed housing in the UK Housing Stock. However, increasingly, it is becoming recognised that the significant number of homes designated as “Hard to Treat” will need to be insulated, and quickly, if the Government’s targets are to be met.

Insulating Hard to Treat Homes is more costly and technically more challenging, so the availability of CERT Funding for these in-situ insulation products, which have been designed specifically for retrofit insulation, now makes the task more cost effective.

Using these CERT approved products provides an innovative insulating envelope using a whole house approach which:
